Suggestions for optimization can come from all parts of the supply chain. In this case, the idea to synchronize the number of units per pallet came from one of our operators in the conversion process. The sales manager then brought the suggestion to Bama, who responded positively to the change.
The result was fewer pallets leaving the conversion process, leading to fewer trucks transporting goods from the factory to Bama—ultimately benefiting the environment.
By increasing the number of units per pallet by just four across 30 different items, Bama has reduced road transport by six truckloads per year, contributing to a more sustainable supply chain.
