We work closely with customers to understand their packaging needs, focussing on branding, functionality, distribution, and sustainability goals.
Our customers' needs are at the core of everything we do.
From the leading technology we invest in and the materials we develop to the solutions we tailor around their precise requirements, every one of our business operations serves our ultimate goal; to deliver excellence to our customers. And excellence can't be achieved by accident. That's why we implemented the Solution Cycle - an eight-step framework that ensures we deliver the maximum possible value in every project we work on.
But the second step in our framework isn't really about what we do at all - it's all about you, the customer. The Identify step is where we work closely with our customers to fully understand their packaging requirements. This captures key information about branding, functionality, supply chain demands and sustainability objectives.
We also conduct a technical and market review to assess factors such as supply chain efficiency, waste reduction and competitive positioning. This ensures that every solution we develop is both practical and commercially viable.
We believe in taking a highly collaborative approach from the outset, which ensures we can use our expertise to guide our customers toward the optimal solution for them. This process also includes a thorough review of market and technical requirements.
We assess how the packaging will perform across all touchpoints - for example, whether it needs to withstand chilled, humid or high-impact conditions, and consider how it compares within the competitive landscape. By challenging convention and exploring innovative materials or design efficiencies, we ensure that each pack is not just fit for purpose but optimised for cost, sustainability and operational performance.
Sustainability is ingrained into our business DNA, and the Identify stage is where we assess how best to balance environmental impact with performance. Using tools like our Product Carbon Footprint calculator and circular economy principles, we review and optimise packaging, material selection and opportunities to minimise mixed material use.
Between consumer demands, brand and retailer goals and tightening regulations, sustainability has become non-negotiable. Thanks to the significant progress we have made - as outlined in our Annual Sustainability Report - we are able to offer our customers sustainable solutions that do not compromise on any of their other requirements.
That's because we take a holistic approach to sustainability. It's important to remember that packaging is meant to prevent waste by protecting and preserving contents. Any packaging that isn't fit for this purpose just contributes to more waste, even if it is made with sustainable materials. Sustainability and meeting the customer's needs do not have to be traded off against one another - they can go hand-in-hand.
As such, we carefully consider each pack's design, challenge historic tolerances, pack configuration and formats, and are unafraid to challenge convention in order to meet a brief. This might involve using recycled content, using lighter grades of corrugate to reduce weight, or simply employing tools like our Product Carbon Footprint calculator to keep our customers informed and involved in the process.
We'll conduct a thorough review of our customer's brand identity, distribution channel, technical requirements and of course, target audience. This helps us weigh up how to optimise operational efficiency when the solution is running on packing lines, or whether the pack needs to be able to cope with chilled, humid conditions. Solutions are validated and quantified, taking a holistic, total cost of ownership approach.
But that's enough about how we do things. Our priority is to our customers - to you. If you'd like to discuss your packaging needs with us, reach out to us to learn more about how we can collaborate on your next project.
