The 2018 results emphasize investments in innovation and sustainability. High paper prices put margins under pressure, but growth is maintained. Key drivers within the sector remain the impact of e-commerce and the focus on sustainable packaging alternatives.

VPK's site in Courcelles (Belgium) - Cartonneries de Wallonie (CDW) - specialises in smaller production runs and digital printing. The investment in a new digital printer will enable the site to offer a higher product quality, a wider product range, and better service.

In April, the production site in Erembodegem upgraded its folders-gluers production to boost the existing capacity.  An automated production step enables usboth to improve safety on the work floor and to process more boxes per hour.

When last year a building of no less than 6000 sqm situated next to the plant in Erembodegem was put up for sale, we immediately saw this as an opportunity to further improve our logistics services –  one that we grabbed with both hands. 

Converting waste into steam saves natural gas consumption at VPK's paper mill in Strasbourg

VPK Packaging Group has completed the transaction to join VPK’s core division Corex and Corenso’s European and Chinese businesses - creating a firm partnership between two customer-focused market players with proven track record.

VPK Packaging Group has reached an agreement to acquire the European and Chinese businesses of coreboard and tube producer Corenso. Corenso is an international supplier of coreboard, cardboard tubes and cores which are used in a broad range of demanding industrial applications.

The Netherlands -- Following the investments of 2017 in VPK's Dutch plant, a greater need for storage was necessary. VPK Packaging has bought the terrain and buildings on the opposite side of the street, comprising a total size of 20.000 square metres.

Poland -- The Corex division - producer of cardboard tubes - doubles the site's production area to support growth and optimise logistics.

Rigid Containers completes 8 million EUR investment in Limerick, Ireland, and announces plans to increase workforce by 30% in the next two years. The announcement wasmade last week during the official opening of two major extensions and the launch of new state of the art conversion equipment.
