You will be responsible to deliver legal advice on corporate law matters regarding corporate structures and business expansion strategies to operational business units and central services in Belgium and abroad.
You participate, advise, coordinate and follow up on strategic projects such as restructurings (mergers/de-mergers/divestments), acquisitions, corporate transactions and intragroup projects across the entire VPK group.
You will work together with outside legal advisors, consultants and interact on a regular basis with executive management and other functional players within VPK’s organization: Finance, ICT, HR, Tax and Operations.
You will also advise, draft and negotiate contracts in a wide range of commercial law matters (purchase, real estate, financial agreements).
You proactively follow up on new legislation and contribute to internal know-how matters.
You will be an integral part of the Group legal team, consisting out of four dedicated in-house lawyers and a paralegal.
Who are we looking for
You obtained a Master’s degree in Law.
You have at least 5 years of experience in corporate law matters.
You have expertise as a legal professional in a law firm and/or within a company with international exposure.
The ability to incorporate tax perspectives into corporate legal advice and a strong awareness of tax-related risks is an asset.
You are fluent in both Dutch and English and you are proficient in French.
You have excellent communication skills, complemented by effective negotiation abilities to both commercial and non-legal issues;
You are flexible, proactive and stress resilient and enjoy a dynamic environment.
You are risk-aware and have the ability to take initiative, make independent and pragmatic risk management judgements.
You have a strong team spirit with a “getting the deal done attitude” and a business mindset.
