Discover how VPK’s FSC® certified corrugated packaging supports responsible sourcing, helps meet procurement requirements and strengthens customer confidence.
Your packaging carries your product and your name. The claims you make about it deserve the same attention as its strength, print quality and performance. That includes how its fibre is sourced.
FSC® certification can help turn responsible sourcing commitments into purchasing decisions backed by evidence. At VPK Packaging, we maintain the systems behind that assurance, helping customers specify certified corrugated packaging and communicate its credentials accurately.
FSC® chain of custody certification extends controls through the supply chain. It governs how businesses source, handle and sell eligible forest-based materials, including those used in paper and corrugated packaging.
For customers, this provides independent assurance behind the relevant sourcing claim. It gives procurement teams a recognised framework for specifying packaging and checking that what they buy meets their responsible sourcing requirements.
A vague promise leaves your team asking for proof. Certification provides an established system for supporting the claim.
That has practical value when you need to meet a retailer’s packaging specification, respond to a tender or demonstrate alignment with your own procurement policy. The relevant FSC® claim and supporting documentation provide evidence for customer reviews and purchasing checks.
Certification also supports clear communication. Where packaging qualifies and labelling requirements are met, the appropriate FSC® label allows you to communicate its sourcing credentials directly on the pack.
These benefits depend on getting the details right. We help customers establish the applicable claim and labelling arrangements, so purchasing requirements and packaging communications work together.
Maintaining certification requires ongoing control over materials and records, supported by staff training and clear responsibilities.
Our multisite system combines central oversight with responsibility at participating sites. Internal checks and external auditing assess how those requirements are implemented. Since May 2026, Preferred by Nature has certified our multisite chain of custody system under licence code FSC®C109033.
For customers, this means the assurance behind eligible orders rests on documented processes and independent scrutiny. We identify certified products through the required FSC® claims on sales and delivery documentation.
Understanding the different FSC® labels helps you choose packaging that matches your requirements.
all forest-based material has been verified as recycled, including eligible material recovered before or after consumer use.
all forest-based materials in products or packaging carrying the FSC® Mix label must either be from FSC®-certified forests, verified as recycled or classed as controlled wood. Controlled wood is subject to requirements designed to reduce the risk of sourcing from unacceptable sources.
all forest-based material comes from FSC-certified forests. Each label communicates a specific claim. If your policy also requires a particular recycled-content percentage, we can discuss the evidence needed for that separate requirement.
Bring your sourcing requirements into the conversation when we develop your packaging specification. Our team can discuss suitable certified options and establish the relevant documentation and label. Where customers want to use their own FSC® label, we have a labelling agreement process verified by Preferred by Nature.
Expect your packaging supplier to make responsible sourcing easier to put into practice.
