An ambitious energy project is being launched at Blue Paper in Strasbourg. Building a power plant to convert its own residual materials into energy will contribute toa more sustainable paper factory that consumes 80% less natural gas and manages its residual fractions more efficiently, therefore assuring a more competitive position for the future.

Aalst, 19 January 2017 - VPK Packaging Group has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of SolidPack. With this move VPK will further expand its solid board segment - known under the brand name Smart Packaging Solutions. By bundling two complementary suppliers under one solid brand, the group aims to be to respond to the increased market requirements for solid board packaging.

Blue Paper has opened a new high stack warehouse for paper rolls in Strasbourg (France).

VPK's production site in Oudegem, Belgium, has a new, ultra-modern machine. The case maker Martin 924 produces American boxes with 6-colour printing in a single pass. This means an increase in the total corrugated packaging capacity of 5 million m²

Earlier this year, VPK commissioned a new rotary die cutter and a flexo folder gluer at its Rigid sites in Desborough, UK and Limerick, Ireland.

VPK Packaging group is investing 6.5 million EUR for the start of its operations in Courcelles, near Charleroi, in the French speaking part of Belgium. The new subsidiary will operate under the dedicated brand Cartonneries de Wallonie. The Group's first site in Belgium's southern part will focus on the production and distribution of corrugated packaging.

VPK Packaging Group has recently entered into an agreement for the acquisition of 100 per cent of the shares in ICS Europaks, a corrugated board box manufacturer based on Galvone Industrial Estate in Limerick, Ireland. The agreement is subject to certain conditions customary to this type of transaction.
